Ne'er cast a clout till May be out (Yes, it is cold in Slovenia).

I feel guilty. I had so many things to say and also some little time to say them... but I was procrastinating the blog publication. I keep my promise and continue writting in english, so those that are still reluctant about taking this blog as an introduction to the spanish language, do not bother. ;) For those spanish friends little bit lazy about the english, I do translate this post to spanish, so they will not give up the reading, as I gived up the publication for a while...

As usual, some photo diary of the last month! Enjoy it!

Me sineto culpable.

A disfrutar!!

1st of May is celebrated here a lot (and I also believe that several things are celebrated, but I can't remember...) So we had a few days off which we used to go to the zoo! (among other things). The zoo in Liubliana is huge! but a little bit sad .. maybe it's because  now I see it with a "mature" point of view , but I felt sorry for all the poor animals stucked there.

The weather was amazing so we decide to take a short trip around Slovenia with Sandra and Andrés. We went to the region of Doljenska (wich means something like the "down" part of the country, the south area, I guess...) We visited Trubar, the village where one of the most famous and important writers and linguists of Slovenia lived, here, more information. And then, even it started to rain, we ate fish at a restaurant near the Croatian border.

On the way back, we stopped at the Turjak castle. I love the castles here! You know I'm little bit strange and  I love to visit churches, castles, and all that kind of old staff...

Of course I took some time to cook! I only took that picture of the pumpking sweet bread (no eggs, refined sugar or dairy products inside). But I was quite inspired those days and I cooked a lot! I tried many new recipes, all of them almost 100% vegan. We feel great (me and Darko) now that we are again taking seriously the vegi and organic diet, lots of energy and Darko even gained some weight!

Pero he estado bastante inspirada estos ultimos días y he cocinado muchísimo! He probado muchas recetas nuevas, casi todas prácticamente veganas.

Also we spend a lot of time with the family. We went to the zoo with Darko's family, and stayed at Zreče and Prekmurje with them. I really feel great here, specially now that I can start communicating, let's say, quite "fluently". Relationships change a lot with the propper communication!

One of the events of the month has been Darko's 29th b-day! We had a mini party at home and we cooked like the world is going to end! Of course we were eating leftovers for a few days! Darko made sangría (I don't have a clue how to make it) and some of us were slightly drunk (I just needed 2 glasses...) Everything was really nice and it made me think... this is the 5th year we are celebrating birthday together! By the way, my 29th b-day is going to be in a couple of days, just for the record!

That sir on the picture is 88 years old. You should see him, how he's tall and strong, and also calm and nice.  Of course this is Darko's grandpa (didn't you notice? they look the same). Grandparents celebrated dedek (grandfather) birthday with a picnic and we were invited. I have to say that I was exhausted at the end of the day, we worked a lot and it was hard for me to be all the time aware of the language, trying to listen everyone and decode the dilaect they talk in Prekmurje. Anyway, it was a very usefull and intensive language course!

I know, It could be anyone or anything, but it is Dalai Lama! He was visiting Maribor last week and me and Sandra decided to soaked up with his knowledge. Even the weather was awfull (hard rain and 8º average) I had such a great day! This is the thing you should do at least once in life, and take a "road trip" with your girl-fried even if it's for one day, too!
